On race day, the city of Boston turns out to celebrate thousands of hardy souls who've committed to finishing a marathon. But in the crowd you'll find some especially hardy heroes: Children's patients cheering for runners competing in their honor.
For runners, it's a special privilege to race for kids battling sickness with amazing strength and grace. For Children's patients and their families, it's a unique opportunity to get to know hard-working athletes with a different kind of inspiring strength. For all who participate it's a wonderful chance to experience one of the most famous marathons in the world--and support Children's Hospital Boston at the same time.

Patient partner pairing
- Once you've applied to our Patient Partner Program and been accepted, Children's will pair you with a Miles for Miracles Team Boston runner.
- You'll meet your runner at our kick-off reception, Sunday, December 3. After exchanging photos and stories, you and your partner can stay in touch as often as you'd like until race weekend.
- Families who raise funds for the hospital in support of their runner are invited to join the 26 Steps Kid Club.
- Days before the race, the whole team--all patients and runners--gather again for a pep rally.
- On race day, patient families join other Children's supporters to root for the team at cheering sections near Wellesley Town Hall and Bretton Realty in Brookline.
