Difference Childrens
Hospital Boston has joined an alliance of premier childrens hospitals to expand
support for critical needs. The national alliance Childrens Miracle Network
(CMN) works with the hospital to raise money in eastern New England for the care of
sick and injured kids.
CMN helps 170
childrens hospitals in the U.S. provide medical care to more than 17 million
children each year. Since 1983, CMN has raised more than $2.2 billion for hospitalized
children through special events, broadcast fundraisers, and corporate sponsorships.
How CMN Helps
Childrens Hospital
The Childrens Hospital Boston-CMN partnership, which includes support for the National Birth Defects
Center in Waltham, Mass., pairs CMNs national resources with the hospitals
regional fundraising efforts.
Initial ventures include a June Telethon and a July 25-26 Radiothon that features a
national celebrity program and live broadcasts from local studios and the hospital.
Major CMN sponsors like Wal-Mart, Marriott, Rite Aid,
and RE/MAX add their support through in-store promotions,
employee contests, customer contributions, and grassroots efforts such as car washes and
balloon sales.
